Telemedicine FAQ

What is doxy.me and why are you using it?

Doxy.me is a HIPAA compliant platform that enables healthcare providers to remotely connect to their patients to conduct an appointment with videoconferencing, which means both audio and video. We are using this solution because it was the easiest for our patients to set up and use.

Do I need special software or equipment for a telehealth session?

No, you only need a device with a camera, microphone, and stable internet connection.

Can you prescribe medications through telemedicine?

Yes. Most psychiatric medications, including antidepressants, anti-anxiety medications, and mood stabilizers, can be prescribed and sent electronically to your pharmacy. If controlled medications are necessary, I will discuss options and requirements with you.

Can I do my first psychiatric evaluation virtually?

Yes. Initial evaluations, medication management, and follow-ups can all be done via telemedicine.

What if I need or want an in-office appointment?

Not a problem! You can choose an in-office appointment to ensure you receive the best possible care.

What happens if I have technical issues during a telehealth appointment?

If technical issues arise, contact our office. We will attempt to help you or provide alternative options. In some cases, your appointment will need to be rescheduled if you are unable to connect.
